Fabrice Gropaiz isn’t your typical world-traveler. The 47-year-old first began collecting world records after he circled the globe on roller skates in the 1990s. Now he’s training for another record-breaker, but this time on an electric skateboard.
For this journey, Gropaiz will carry a tent and sleeping bag in a small trailer hitched to the board. His community is also rallying behind him. Gropaiz’s home city of Mers-Les-Bains, France, chipped in over $500 for the purchase of a camera, which he uses to livestream his training.
Gropaiz plans to kick off his world tour in Spring 2018, starting from San Francisco and hopefully ending in the record books.
