Braid: Calgary’s e-scooters don’t belong on pedestrians’ sidewalks

E-scooters are taking off in Calgary, almost literally.

These narrow slats with a wheel at either end can zip along at 20 km/h,
according to e-rent company Lime.

And they’re being used on sidewalks, often going much too fast for the
comfort and safety of people who’d rather walk.

The powered scooters were so thick on the ground last weekend that
playwright Eugene Stickland was startled to see a person on foot …
