In this video, I am testing the performance of a new version of the FOCBOX motor controller called TENKA. It can be configured to run dual motors or a single motor depending on what firmware you load onto it. In this test, we are running 120 motor amps into a single motor using the VARI-ESC firmware.
Why is this useful? If you are wanting to build an LEV such as a skateboard, ebike, or scooter, and only have a small budget, you might consider the TENKA as it is an affordable motor controller that can output big power into a single larger motor. However, later, when your budget increases, you might wish to add the 2nd motor to improve braking performance, torque output & handling characteristics.
WARNING: The TENKA comes setup from the factory with firmware to run dual motors. If you pair the motor wires together to run a single motor with default firmware the hardware will be damaged & the warranty void.
