Following up on our DIY build, we put our DIY electric longboard to the test and share our thoughts on how it rides. We’re pleased to report that the board feels planted and the deck is enjoyable to ride. Seeking more comfort (and in the name of pushing the limits), we decided to install large trucks and cloud wheels to see how the board would perform with these upgrades. The cloud wheels were great, but the board ended up feeling a little disconnected due to the larger trucks taken from our Build Kit Boards (BKB) Duo. Nonetheless, this experience highlights the customization potential of DIY electric longboards and how different components can affect the overall performance and look of your board.
Throughout the video, we share our experience with the board, including our thoughts on how it performed with the upgrades. We’ll also provide some tips and tricks for those who are interested in making similar upgrades to their own electric longboards. One of the benefits of building your own electric longboard is the knowledge and skillset that you gain along the way. Even though not all of our changes worked out in this video, it’s awesome to have the ability to experiment and tweak our DIY setup to suit our individual needs and preferences. You can make it a perfect fit for how you want to ride or use the board, whether that’s for commuting, cruising, or even off-roading with all-terrain wheels.
Furthermore, building your own electric longboard can be a satisfying and rewarding experience. It’s a great way to develop new skills and gain a sense of accomplishment from building something yourself. Despite the challenges that we encountered along the way, we’re glad that we have the knowledge, skill set, and ability to experiment with different setups to create our own unique ride.
