The Summerboard has the capability for electronic braking via the remote control, that also regenerates the battery. However, we strongly recommend always using the sliding ability of the board to stop rather than the electronic brakes, since it is much safer and more effective. In fact, it is electronic brakes that causes a lot of crashes in the electric longboard world – they don’t have another option for braking, but with Summerboard you can always slide to a stop.
If you are going to use the electronic brakes, then watch this video for an explanation on how to do it safely and understanding the constraints of the electronic brake.
Goals:
Brake safely at slow speeds
Understand that electronic braking is turned off at higher speeds
Perfect execution:
80-90% of weight shifted to back foot when braking
Slow thumbwheel movement to ease-in the brake
